PvE focus of the game revolves around the gear “Score”. Player must have higher gear score than their current maximum depth in order to push comfortably.

Gear Score is based on item’s depth+quality when acquired.

Easiest way of checking for the weakest link is by clicking “Score” and scrolling to the bottom. 

General strategy when pushing depth is by holding only to the crucial legendary effects and swapping less impactful legendaries for the recently looted epic items that provide build related masteries.
